It is pertinent to note that the CS Professional Programme’s Papers 8 and 9 are open-book exams where candidates must carefully apply a variety of theories and applications in order to coherently answer the questions. In contrast, the other papers are descriptive in nature and do not carry any negative marking. The requirements for passing and exemption from the CS Professional Programme are the same as those outlined above for the CS Executive Programme. Specifically, candidates must achieve at least 40% in each subject and a total of 50% in all subjects across one or all three modules in a single sitting.

Additionally, the overall cost of the CS Professional Programme is Rs. 13000, plus an extra Rs. 1200 for each module a candidate wants to take.

Candidates for the CS programme who have primarily passed the CS Executive or CS Professional exams are required to complete a fifteen-month training programme with a practicing CS or in a company with a minimum paid-up share capital of fifty lakh rupees. Aside from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Registrar of Companies, Official Liquidator, Regional Directors Banks, Consultancy Firms, Law Firms, Financial Institutions, LLPs, Government Bodies, PSUs, and several other departments, these CS students can also participate in an internship programme.

A candidate who has successfully completed the CS Professional Programme must complete a 15-day Management Skills Orientation Programme (MSOP) training after completing the demanding but highly beneficial and practical internship. Completing the MSOP is a mandatory prerequisite for any CS Professional to be admitted as a fellow associate member of the ICSI. The MSOP is a very helpful programme for all young and inexperienced computer science professionals. It gives them the chance to interact with highly knowledgeable and skilled faculty members as well as other reputable senior members of the ICSI. After completing the programme, a candidate will be able to prefix his name with the extremely admirable computer science appellation.
